Our Toddler Environment

Your child's environment has a large influence on her growth and development and her attitude towards learning. Our two's classroom is specially planned to create a sense of safety and security, while at the same time offering a stimulating learning environment that she just can't wait to jump into. Everything about it is designed to help your two-year-old become a self-confident, capable learner, and improve the amount and quality of interactions between the children in the class, the teachers, and the materials.

The Academy’s special learning centers, called Discovery Areas, help children learn specific skills through hands-on exploration. Daily activities for each area reinforce our Monthly Themes.

Discovery Areas

Science/Sensory: Hands on Experience helps toddlers learn about basic science concepts such as weight, volume and fluidity, using simple materials and experiments.

Active Play Area: An indoor climber or big soft blocks give toddlers fun ways to practice large muscle control and agility.

Home Living/Dramatic Play: By acting out events from their daily lives and imaginations, toddlers explore language and social skills by playing and cooperation with others.

Language/Library: We provide a cozy place to enjoy story time with the teacher, to read or look through picture books. We also allow our students to check books out, so that they are able to share their experience with their family at home.
